Important Message to All PS3 Owners

I was thinking of setting up a Ventrillo server for all the PS3 users on Gamezbox to use so we have our own version of cross Game voice chat.

Before I get to that though I need some information.

I need to know:

How many people here play PS3 online.

And how many have a computer near their console.

The way this will work is I'll rent a 10 user server in Ireland for 2 years at a cost of around €50. Anyone who wants to use it will need the ventrillo client software on their pc and a microphone. The client will use only a tiny amount of bandwith so your game wont lag or anything because of it.

If any of the staff want to go ahead and do this themselves then be my guest.

I use Vent for a few things actually. a friend has a server. It might be possible to get a channel set-up if there's enough interest.

If i remember correctly ... with the hosting package we have here at gamezbox, we have 15 slots on a teamspeak server ... back in the day ... maybe soans might remember ... i asked to have it turned off due to the fact that no one ever used it ... I can get back in touch with the hosts and see if its still available ???

Cool Paddy. I'll keep that in mind. I've decided to host my own server for around a month to gauge interest. I'll post the details of it a bit later. Should interest be reasonable we can look into the available premium options. Hows that?

I wont be able to host this reliably thanks to my dogey eircom connection.
They keep changing the external IP when my internet goes down and static Ip's from eircom are too expensive for me.

Can anyone else take over this cause?

I'm really sorry about this. Remember this wont be a problem on premium servers since they have static IP adresses.

I managed to bypass the IP issue. The server details have changed to accommodate this.

Server Name: GBX-PS3

Hostname or IP: frjoethesecond.zapto.org

Port Number: 3784

Password: gamezbox2010
