Default Coming soon: Destination Arcade

From Major Nelsons blog

Next week we’ll be launching another way to browse content on Xbox LIVE Arcade and we’re calling it Destination Arcade. With a growing library of over 250 Arcade games, Destination Arcade will allow you to discover new games and content you enjoy through an easy-to-use visual browser. You’ll have the ability to sort by price, community rating, and more! Also, stay up to date on the latest arcade releases through a news feed and also find out what games your friends like and recommend. This brand new recommendation engine & visual browser app will be available in the US on July 14th from the Games Marketplace section of the dashboard.

I have asked when this is coming to europe and will post up the reply.

Meh...another app that takes its time to load instead of the much quicker way of browsing through the marketplace as we do now.

They can keep it.

None of you have used it so how the hell can you think its slow. And it wont duplicate, it improves and makes it easier to navigate.

People bashing something when they have seen and know basically nothing about it. typical.

If they "improve" something by putting a new tool in place, they should discontinue the current one. But what for if you can have two similar tools?

Why it's typical? Have a quick look for instance at SkyDrive-Live Mesh-My Phone. Off topic but interesting read.

thats like saying they should discontinue the iPAd, or the iphone 3gs because the iphone 4 is here.

It will be the exact same as opening up the Zune app to see the videos you have downloaded or rented now. Before you could browse them easily in the marketplace and purchase or download. Now you have to launch the Zune app when you go into Video Marketplace and then browse from there. Pointless.

I can only presume Music Videos will be the next section getting a similar app or they will end up in Zune also.

the zune section brought new movies though, i dont think they were the same as what was available in the video marketplace.

also the zune app isnt exactly slow, it opens right up just like normal
